Walter
Universitetskaya is a very clean and organized hotel. The hotel is conveniently located close to the underground metro station - making it easy to explore the city. The staff is very friendly and always available to help. The breakfast buffet is reasonably priced and offers a good variety of options.
Recommend.

This hotel was good value. The place was very clean and we loved our economy twin room. We dined out at Butcher Steak House, set near the venue. We loved television and a writing desk.

I like location in city and cleanliness in the room.
Room was little more doss. If the weather is hot, it is in the room without air conditioning impossible.

Loved staying at a hotel with a hair salon - made my bouffant look fabulous! The library was also a nice touch, finally got to read some books while sipping my coffee at the cafe.
Shame the gift shops didn't sell sarcasm, would've been the perfect souvenir.

In general, hotel was good. We got a triple which was very chip. It was really the lowest price ever found in Moscow. Bed was clean, refrigerator worked, shower and toilet were ok. Location is also not bad - just one bus stop to metro. They are doing reconstructions in hotel, so probably there are also renovated rooms, which of course will be not so chip.
If you haven't been to Soviet Union - you still have a chance feel the spirit of soviet 80's in this hotel! Furniture and decor haven't been change since Moscow Olympics and will bring you a feeling of that times. You will enjoy unforgettable breakfast, which consists of spaghetti and sausages accompanied with cup of tea (no coffee!)... One day they will renovate everything and it will become just another expensive Moscow hotel. It may be your last chance to stay in a chip room of soviet times.

Great location, excellent metro connectivity to all parts of the city. Spotlessly clean rooms, comfy beds. Newly refurbished lift.
Felt immediately at home, no complaints whatsoever.

I liked the price of the stay and also the peaceful atmosphere of the hotel.
Bathroom looked almost like in a student dormitory. In the room there was no desk, just a "shelf" partly occupied by a tv, therefore a work was uncomfortable. The window faced a street with extremely dense traffic (Michurinsky prospekt) which was unpleasant particularly at night: with opened window, it was hard to sleep because of the noise, and with closed window, it was difficult to sleep since the room was too hot (I stayed in summer). There was very poor choice for breakfast (on the other hand, breakfast was enough to eat fill).

The beds :)
First of all we had an impression before arriving that the room would be well furnished and alas it wasn't . Secondly the pictures which are shown on its website seems to be fake and it was not the view we thought of. The bathrooms were quite small.

Conveniently located if you are visiting the Moscow State University. 20' walk from the main buildings of just a few minutes on the trolleybus. Reasonably priced for a Moscow hotel. The room was reasonable with fridge a tv and free wifi. Interesting decor with religious icons all over, a map of the Holy Land in the breakfast room, a church in the top floor. To top it up the wifi ssid is "pilgrim"
The bathroom was a bit outdated, although still in useable conditions. Breakfast not that great, with no "continental" version on offer. Lifts take forever to appear, use the stairs instead.

It was clean
No airconditioning, they offered me a room which costs a lot cheaper than the one I booked, no room-service

- good place nearby Moscow State University (3 bus stop to the metro station "Universitet"); - soft bed; good cleaning; big LCD TV-screen; refrigerator; - water cooler in the corridor; - it is a bit unusual that orthodox icons everywhere: in the hotel hall, canteen, corridors and rooms, but I like it.
- small room; really cold inside room (despite on +10 outside at the beginning of October); no heaters; no fan (as the staff told me: because of "fire safety" requirements); unvaried breakfast (without cold drinks, juices, even water!!); too old bathroom equipment; - the cost of this 2-star hotel is equil to the cost of 3-4-star in Europe!! (although the service is not very good, but it suits to 2-star hotel)
